Romantic Getaway

Miller70 flippedThis is our third anniversary celebration at Buckhorn Inn. We absolutely love the Inn and its fabulous view of Mt. Le Conte.  It is so relaxing here and the food is wonderful. I’m sure we will be back again for yet another visit.

We always recommend this place to all our friends for a romantic getaway.     Kim and Brooks Knott

Buckhorn Inn–At the Top of the List

W are here in September 2013 with Biagio’s cousin, Willy, from Argentina who he hasn’t seen for 60 years.  Willy’s wife Lydia, his daughter Laura and Granddaughter Julieta are also with us.  I retired in June of this year and Buckhorn is where we come for celebrating our anniversaries, birthdays and any time our bodies, minds, spirits and souls are in need of rejuvenation.  Never have we been disappointed nor have any of the people who have followed our recommendations to try Buckhorn.  All seasons bring us back and we hope to enjoy it for many more years.  Thank you for your work and dedication to keeping the inn in a class by itself and at the top of the list.

A Beautiful Setting

Memories of Buckhorn are always happy thoughts for us.  God created a beautiful setting here with awesome mountains, trees, flowers and cheerful birds.  It may just be heaven on earth.  Buckhorn has been and will continue to be a place for us to clear our minds and rest our bones.  Nancy and Sherold Walker

Nice Experience

Stayed for 2 nights as we made our way south on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smoky Mountains. This was our final stop prior to making our way to Atlanta.  We didn’t want to stay amongst the glitz and bustle of Gatlinburg so this was an obvious choice set 5 miles away nestled nicely in the hills.  When viewing online we noted the Tower Room. It looked quaint and quirky so decided to book it as it would be something different. We were not disappointed. It is set on 3 levels – the ground level had a couple of seats and I suppose you could sit here or outside on the enclosed decking area – although I would not recommend this as it is a small enclosed area plus there are far nicer places to sit close by. The 1st level up had the bathroom and nothing else and on the top floor the bed. The bed has the stairs on one side so access to and from the bed is from one side only. There is also no room for suitcases on this floor and you have to store them on the ground level. From the top/bed level there are views on all sides from each of the windows.  So if you are looking for something different and unusual this is the room for you. A great experience.

Inside the Inn there are comfortable sitting areas both inside and out. At 3pm each day complimentary cake and tea/coffee is available in the lounge.  Wi-Fi – free and available throughout.  Breakfast – starters is normally fruit salad followed by a cooked main course chosen from the menu. Usual culprits such as omelette, waffles, French toast, sausage, bacon, etc. All very well cooked and presented.  Staff are very friendly and look to provide a very good service at all times.  Gratuities – a fixed optional gratuity is added to your final account/bill when you checkout. We were more than happy to pay the suggested amount ($40) for our 2 day stay as the service throughout was excellent.  Stayed October 2013, traveled as a couple  Wilton2

A Better View Would Be Hard to Come By

Premier Room Small version

One of my favorite B&B’s. There’s something about Buckhorn Inn that keeps me wanting to come back. The breakfasts are amazing, and what I really love about them is the fact that there is a sweet and a savory choice that changes daily, as well as the old stand by eggs, bacon, sausage and toast should you so choose. The rooms are spotless, and well taken care of. The only drawback we had this year was that our fireplace did not work for the first 3 days and was unable to be fixed until our second to the last day. Unfortunately, the days it wasn’t working were the coolest days of our trip so that was a little disappointing. Other than that, our stay was fantastic as usual. Can’t wait to return next year.  We stayed in Premier Room 2, the view is amazing, and the king size bed is super comfortable!  October 2013 BNBLoversJax  Jacksonville, Florida

Where Guardian Angels Live

Linda and I have celebrated every wedding anniversary at Buckhorn Inn sine we have been married.  When we arrived at Buckhorn in November 2013, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary.  In the later part of the 1990s, we added a visit the week prior to Easter each year.

Buckhorn Inn is always warm and welcoming and provides a comfort that is like “going home.”  Just to sit in a cottage reading a book by the fire, taking a walk on the property or relaxing in the Jacuzzi, all in preparation for the best breakfast and dinner you will ever be served.

Last year on our first night at the Inn, Linda became seriously ill and was rushed to the hospital in Sevierville for six days.  Each morning, Lee would sit with me before breakfast for updates on Linda’s progress.  She, John and the staff gave their personal support and concern beyond any expectation.  But their response was natural, personable, and part of what makes Buckhorn Inn special.

Lee, John and their staff are part of our extended family.  When we think back on the many changes in our lives–careers, becoming grandparents, loss of loved ones, retirement, aging–we are blessed to have Buckhorn Inn as a “special peaceful place” to reflect, focus and rejuvenate the spirit that supports us.  We both believe in “Guardian Angels” and we know where they live–Buckhorn Inn.  Norm and Linda Campbell, Beaufort, SC

What a Wonderful Find

We found the Buckhorn while searching online for B&Bs in Gatlinburg. This place received rave reviews, so we had to see for ourselves. We were thrilled with what we found.  The Buckhorn is tucked away from the noise and crowds of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge yet is not far from either. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and the view of Mt. LeConte is breathtaking. We have only stayed in the cabins, and each is private, clean, and in top shape, with each having its own something special that makes it charming. The main house is full of books and games and places to sit and talk. There is free wifi throughout the grounds. Coffee and snacks are available 24/7. The grounds has lots of walking trails, too. The innkeepers and managers are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is the best served at any B&B where we’ve ever stayed. Everything is fresh with a touch of gourmet. We’ve also had dinners there and have never been sorry that we spent the $35 each to have dinner at the Buckhorn. Trust me… you won’t be disappointed that you stayed here.  We’ve already booked another cabin for November!  June 2013  Geminipen  Toledo OH

Simple Class: Blow the Buck’s Horn

Other reviewers have touched on the basics that make a Buckhorn Inn stay so pleasant: quiet and serene location away from the hurly-burly of Gatlinburg, beautiful and well- maintained grounds, delicious food (breakfast especially) efficient and friendly staff, gracious hosts, comfortable and tastefully decorated common areas, cottage(or room), and more. All are spot on so I will not repeat, and the Buckhorn well deserves the many raves it has gotten. My husband and I also found the inn by accident on the way to looking up something else, and what serendipity this turned out to be! The first introduction is a top notch website–beautiful photography, well-laid out, easy links to all the information needed to make an informed decision. In fact I had some misgivings that maybe the real thing would not live up to the online version, but not only was all as exactly described but even better. When viewing room details I keep my husband in mind since he is strictly a no frills fellow. The Victorian places with frills and dust catching knick knacks leave him cold. So imagine our delight to open our charming cottage door and be greeted with minimal doodads and best of all–no shams and excessive pillows that give you claustrophobia before you even get into the bed! The decor was classy yet simple ; the overall effect–clean and very comfortable. Immediately you feel at home and know you will have a wonderful stay–which we did.  June 2013  belwen4  Asheville,NC
