TripAdvisor Has Changed Travel
Every month, 456 million people visit TripAdvisor to plan or review a trip. That works out to about 1 in every 16 people on earth! For almost every place there is a review, even fictional ones. In fact the fictional Grant Budapest Hotel (from the movie) has more than 350 reviews and a 4.5 star rating.
The volume of consumer-sourced reviews has led to what some travel experts refer to as “reputation economy”. While positive reviews can boost a business, bad reviews can be devastating. Even before the days of print travel guides, people wanted to know everything about their destination before they got there. Those who post on TripAdvisor are doing their best to help their fellow travelers.

The view from Bebb House is spectacular.
Judy B said. Chef Allen was incredible with his selections for dinner. I must admit there was so much food I couldn’t eat it all. Well, I had to leave room for the dessert didn’t I?

Just a beautiful, happy place to unwind…with beautiful views…wonderful food and a very helpful and absolutely lovely staff.It’s in a great location right in the 8 mile loop of all the galleries, potters and cute restaurants and bistros.Will definitely return and experience a different season.

The drive down the entrance with the lush forest trees on each side of the road, the greeting by the owner Lee, as if we were long loss family, and sitting on the screened in porch of our cottage with a breath taking view of the Smokies, all created memories that will last forever. The entire staff was friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast and dinner meals were absolutely divine. This was our first trip, but definitely not our last.

epbodo writes: Superb Mountain Getaway. We return to the Buckhorn Inn as often as possible. The location, a few miles outside of Gatlinburg, is perfect to avoid the tourist crowd and is convenient to many hiking and day-trip destinations. The rooms are always clean and well-kept. We usually eat dinner at the Buckhorn and we have never been left hungry or dissatisfied. Staff is always ready to accommodate special requests. The soups and desserts are extraordinary. Lee and John and all of their helpers are gracious hosts. To summarize in one short sentence: We love the place.

who fell in love with the Inn too! We stayed in the Bebb House for the first time and absolutely loved it! It’s so charming and cozy with lots of room to accommodate two couples. The full kitchen and two baths were perfect. The view from the beautiful living area is breathtaking and my husband kept a warm fire going which we all enjoyed! We dined in the Inn on Saturday evening and the prime rib was delicious! Heidi is the ever welcoming hostess and took care of us so well! Breakfast at the Buckhorn is always a treat with a sweet or savory choice each morning!
We missed seeing John this visit but Lee informed us he was celebrating his birthday with friends and family. The Mellors could not be more perfect as innkeepers! We have been visiting the Inn for almost twenty years and always look forward to our next stay with anxious anticipation!
Fancydance wrote: Girl trip. We had a girlfriend getaway trip. We are all critical care nurses, we work in a stressful environment. This trip allowed us time to relax and unwind for a week. Everyone was so kind and nice. We stayed in the Bebb House which offered beautiful views. The stay was relaxing. The Inn offered us peace and quiet. The staff always asked about our day, wanting to make sure we were pleased. The answers were always yes. Can’t wait to return next year.

From the beautiful views from our room, the Premier 1, to the incredible breakfast every morning. We also booked a dinner our first evening there and it was also fantastic! The staff made sure they waited on our every need and we could not have asked for anything more! We will be back!” 5 stars.

Lee and John are the perfect hosts and the food was excellent as always. The Inn is close to the Greenbrier with great hikes and historical information.” 5 stars
bdcook wrote on May 15, 2018: “We spent two nights in one of the cabins at the Buckhorn Inn while we hiked and visited the sights in the Smoky Mountains. We’d definitely stay there again when we visit the area. Good value in a comfortable cabin with living room and small kitchen. Wonderful, quiet property and such nice people. Loved our glass of wine while sitting in the rocking chairs with a view of the mountains while meeting interesting people staying there. We hadn’t planned on meals there, but had a wonderful dinner there in the end. Wish we had a fluffier pillow is the only idea for improving on the experience.” 5 stars

The staff is friendly and welcoming. An added bonus: The spring wildflowers are breathtakingly gorgeous right now, so short easy hikes in this part of the Smokies are rewarding.”
