Six Years and Ready to Return

We are part of a six couple group which has met each year for over 30 years, and we have been at Buckhorn for six years now. Gatlinburg is a central location for our group which is scattered in 5 states. However, the regular tourist scene of Gatlinburg was not what we were looking for. One of our couples discovered Buckhorn Inn. It is exactly what we were looking for. It is hidden in the mountains and seems in another world apart from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg.

The Mellors, owners, have made us feel like we are part of their family each time we visit. They find ways to make our annual group reunion perfect. The food has always amazed us and we are continually asking them to post the recipes on their website. The facilities are exactly what we need for our group. We rent a house for our group meetings and two couples stay there, while everyone else simply stays in the Inn. Everything is always clean and well cared for. If there is ever an issue, the Mellors make sure that it is corrected immediately. They really know how to manage an inn. We never have any concerns about the place where we are going to meet as long as it is Buckhorn Inn.  August 2013, David H. Bedford, VA

What a View!

For a true Smoky Mountain experience (very classy) give Buckhorn a try. We stayed in a cottage. It has a king bed, nice bath, and large living room. The mattress was lumpy and needs replacing. That did not deter me from really liking this place. The breakfast was great, and we ate dinner with them for two nights and both meals were 4 course delights. Try the spiced tea! Food, atmosphere, nice owners, nice guests…ALL YOU COULD WANT!!   August 2013 Corvette1871  Innkeeper’s Note:  We thank Corvette 1871 for telling us about this mattress which we replaced immediately!

Another Pleasant Stay

We returned for another visit – just overnight. We found the Inn to be spotless, the wifi excellent (always important to us!) and the staff friendly. Hope to return for a longer visit soon. Did not get the opportunity to eat dinner, but the breakfast was excellent.  August 2013, Ragtop Girl, East TN

Fantastic Views of the Mountains

My husband and I recently had our first (and definitely not our last) stay at the wonderful Buckhorn Inn. We were celebrating his 59th birthday. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. They were attentive to my husband’s food allergies, and made menu changes especially for him, as well as decorating our table in honor of the occasion! The views from the Inn are breathtaking. Our room was beautiful and spacious, the dinner was absolutely delicious, and so was the breakfast. The Inn is truly a gem hidden in the Smokies.  August, 2013  LisaB, Knoxville TN

Genteel Graciousness

Wow. This is a special place–a formal home nestled in the Smoky Mountains where supper is four courses, served promptly at 7, and one still dresses for dinner!!!!!  After the hustle bustle of Gatlinburg city center, the calm gentility of Buckhorn is even more appreciated. Every detail is noticed and apprciated; we just loved it–a perfect gateway to the Smoky Mountain National Park.  August 2013 jsunder106 Chicago, IL

Very Special Getaway

My wife and I booked a 4-night stay without knowing anything more than what reviewers in trip advisor wrote, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with our experience!   Buckhorn Inn was absolutely one of the most wonderful places we’ve stayed. The cabin was perfect in every way. The setting was beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The breakfasts? Wow.
Make sure you book dinner reservations as well during your stay. The dinners are simply superb.
And if like us, you’ve never enjoyed a side-by-side massage, they will book one for you in your cabin. A true highlight of our stay.  July 2013  BBrown_12  Nashville TN

Dinner at Buckhorn Inn

Now I see why Buckhorn Inn is rated #1 of places to eat in Gatlinburg. Dinner was wonderful. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. And, the view of the mountains from our table was breathtaking. Pricey…but definitely worth it. Would love to stay there at the Inn sometime. Beautiful.  Recommend  Buckhorn Inn Tea….very good.  September 2013  PHYLLIS O

Pretty and pleasing

Only stayed one night but enjoyed every minute of it. Pretty room with big comfortable bed, sitting area, t.v., iron & board, great toiletries, writing desk, plenty of reading light., small but sparkling clean bath, just a great room. The inn also has lovely grounds with its own nature trail and pond. Other amenities include: a comfortable lounge area with fresh cookies, sink area, ice etc. My breakfast was superb, pancakes with carmelized bananas and also served with a basket of biscuits and yummy lemon bread.  September 2013  mallybos Boston

Charming Southern Hospitality

This visit to Buckhorn Inn was a girlfriend getaway. I just cannot say enough about this wonderful B&B. First let me start by saying the innkeepers John and Lee were gracious as always.  I look forward to seeing them at breakfeasts.  John is such a gentlemen he holds your chair for you to help you get seated. Lee and John provide each guest with personal attention.  They make you feel like you have come home. The staff is the best.   They are genuine and they want your stay to be the best. I liked to personally thank Debbie, Heidi, Libby, Brooke, Hugo, Gloria, Jack and all others whose names escape me at this time for such a wonderful stay at the inn. The food is great!, the grounds are beautiful, the guest house was warm and inviting. The returning guests make you feel like family. I say you should give this inn a try; you will not be dissatisfied and you will make this your new home away from home.  Go and enjoy Buckhorn Inn.  Stayed October 2013  Fancydance

Enjoy the View!

Staying at  Buckhorn Inn is ideal for special occasions like anniversaries and birthdays. My partner and I stayed at  Bebb House on the Buckhorn Inn property and it was more than worth the amount we paid. The views alone make it more than worth the price. While you’re staying at Buckhorn, enjoy the tranquil wooded area, the quiet, and most of all, the views! Dining at Buckhorn is a religious experience and should not be passed up. Breakfast is also included, of course, and guests are encouraged to be in the dining room between 8:00am and 9:30am – do not miss breakfasts, the owners will know 😉   The owners, Lee and John Mellor, are the nicest innkeepers I have ever had the fortune to meet.  They truly make the experience of staying at the Inn so special.  I cannot recommend the Buckhorn Inn highly enough.  October 2013  (amonarch Nashville Tennessee)
