Internet Luck

I am one of the lucky ones who found Buckhorn by chance on the internet.  I needed a place to stay on the east side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and looked up bed and breakfast places on the internet.  Arriving on October first, I was thrilled to find this beautiful home.  At first look, you know you are in a very special and much loved place.  I stayed in Cottage 1 which I found delightful in every way.  At dinner I began to meet other guests.  First, I met a couple who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.  They talked of their special day and now they had returned nearly every year to celebrate.  As I met more people I realized how lucky I was to find such a special place which is held dear by so many.  Laurie Word

Perfectly Beautiful Weekend

Thank you for the privilege of enjoying one of the most perfectly beautiful weekends we can recall as Friends of Buckhorn Inn guests. Starting with the delicious dinners prepared by Chef Bob (both the salmon and beef were just right!), we thrived on the feasts, the well manicured walks by the gardens, the tranquility,  the lovely new decor in Cottage 6, and the thoughtful attention to detail by your exceptional staff.  We were not alone in our assessment as virtually every guest writing in the three volumes of guest books extolled you both as innkeepers, the extraordinary staff you have assembled and the transformative atmosphere of Buckhorn Inn. For your exquisite hospitality we are so grateful.  Ben and Kitty Coffee

Everything We Hoped It Would Be

Between the enchanting cottage, picturesque grounds and mountains, and delectable food, our first anniversary was everything we hoped it would be.  We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had and give you our thanks.  We will definitely have to come back in the future, especially in the spring to see the Callaway Garden at its finest. Famous Travel Agent Gives Buckhorn Thumbs Up!

thumbs-up-icon-blue-mdSince the 1950’s I have visited Buckhorn Inn nearly every years, sometimes twice yearly.  I have always felt “at home” and found the atmosphere great and relaxing.

As a travel agent in the Nashville area, I realized early that the affluent citizens here would find the Buckhorn appealing, especially those who did not enjoy the more commercial places in Gatlinburg.  Once introduced to Buckhorn, I was sure folks would return again and again.  You have added even more charm and amenities in your time at the Inn to an already quality place.  William DePriest, Franklin TN

Romantic Getaway

Miller70 flippedThis is our third anniversary celebration at Buckhorn Inn. We absolutely love the Inn and its fabulous view of Mt. Le Conte.  It is so relaxing here and the food is wonderful. I’m sure we will be back again for yet another visit.

We always recommend this place to all our friends for a romantic getaway.     Kim and Brooks Knott

Buckhorn Inn–At the Top of the List

W are here in September 2013 with Biagio’s cousin, Willy, from Argentina who he hasn’t seen for 60 years.  Willy’s wife Lydia, his daughter Laura and Granddaughter Julieta are also with us.  I retired in June of this year and Buckhorn is where we come for celebrating our anniversaries, birthdays and any time our bodies, minds, spirits and souls are in need of rejuvenation.  Never have we been disappointed nor have any of the people who have followed our recommendations to try Buckhorn.  All seasons bring us back and we hope to enjoy it for many more years.  Thank you for your work and dedication to keeping the inn in a class by itself and at the top of the list.

Nice Experience

Stayed for 2 nights as we made our way south on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smoky Mountains. This was our final stop prior to making our way to Atlanta.  We didn’t want to stay amongst the glitz and bustle of Gatlinburg so this was an obvious choice set 5 miles away nestled nicely in the hills.  When viewing online we noted the Tower Room. It looked quaint and quirky so decided to book it as it would be something different. We were not disappointed. It is set on 3 levels – the ground level had a couple of seats and I suppose you could sit here or outside on the enclosed decking area – although I would not recommend this as it is a small enclosed area plus there are far nicer places to sit close by. The 1st level up had the bathroom and nothing else and on the top floor the bed. The bed has the stairs on one side so access to and from the bed is from one side only. There is also no room for suitcases on this floor and you have to store them on the ground level. From the top/bed level there are views on all sides from each of the windows.  So if you are looking for something different and unusual this is the room for you. A great experience.

Inside the Inn there are comfortable sitting areas both inside and out. At 3pm each day complimentary cake and tea/coffee is available in the lounge.  Wi-Fi – free and available throughout.  Breakfast – starters is normally fruit salad followed by a cooked main course chosen from the menu. Usual culprits such as omelette, waffles, French toast, sausage, bacon, etc. All very well cooked and presented.  Staff are very friendly and look to provide a very good service at all times.  Gratuities – a fixed optional gratuity is added to your final account/bill when you checkout. We were more than happy to pay the suggested amount ($40) for our 2 day stay as the service throughout was excellent.  Stayed October 2013, traveled as a couple  Wilton2
