Simple Class: Blow the Buck’s Horn
Other reviewers have touched on the basics that make a Buckhorn Inn stay so pleasant: quiet and serene location away from the hurly-burly of Gatlinburg, beautiful and well- maintained grounds, delicious food (breakfast especially) efficient and friendly staff, gracious hosts, comfortable and tastefully decorated common areas, cottage(or room), and more. All are spot on so I will not repeat, and the Buckhorn well deserves the many raves it has gotten. My husband and I also found the inn by accident on the way to looking up something else, and what serendipity this turned out to be! The first introduction is a top notch website–beautiful photography, well-laid out, easy links to all the information needed to make an informed decision. In fact I had some misgivings that maybe the real thing would not live up to the online version, but not only was all as exactly described but even better. When viewing room details I keep my husband in mind since he is strictly a no frills fellow. The Victorian places with frills and dust catching knick knacks leave him cold. So imagine our delight to open our charming cottage door and be greeted with minimal doodads and best of all–no shams and excessive pillows that give you claustrophobia before you even get into the bed! The decor was classy yet simple ; the overall effect–clean and very comfortable. Immediately you feel at home and know you will have a wonderful stay–which we did. June 2013 belwen4 Asheville,NC
Elegance Defined
What a gem nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains! The grounds are immaculate, and I cannot say enough about the very clean and comfortable cottage(s) we used during our visit. Each staff member goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure your stay is enjoyable. Breakfast is amazing — the juiciest of fruit, fresh-from-the-oven bakery, delicious coffee and creative entrees — all served with a smile! We took advantage of dinner one evening, and it was superb from soup to dessert. Sitting on the beautiful terrace just to gaze about is a real treat … especially with a glass of wine before dinner! If you get hit with a late afternoon slump, just hop over to the Inn for complimentary fresh-brewed coffee, fruit, cookies or brownies. Bottom line: If you want to relax and truly “get away,” this is your quiet place … just a short drive away from Gatlinburg’s attractions! June 2013 jkh0105 Indianapolis IN
The Tower Room
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Buckhorn Inn! We stayed in the Tower room and loved every minute of it! It is a very unique room! If you want a change from normal room layouts, I suggest this room. Three levels make up the Tower room; the Entry/Sitting Area, the Bathroom, and the Bedroom. Understand that you must be able to climb stairs with no problems, as you will be doing it frequently! Oh, and remember to close your window blinds to avoid showing it all to the world! Anyway, what a great atmosphere to help calm your nerves and to relax! Plenty of places to be alone on the grounds. Nice walking trail and labyrinth to help you gather your thoughts. As for breakfast, wonderfully prepared and tastes even better! No matter what your preferences, there is something for everyone! The wild blueberry pancakes were awesome! Lee and John are great hosts; they care about you and it shows! No complaints about our stay, other than it not being long enough! We plan to return very soon! June 2013 Firedude21, Mountain City TN
Cabins Are Fabulous
Romantic and Peaceful
Beautiful Location, Delicious Meals
Away from touristy, downtown Gatlinburg, Buckhorn Inn is a beautiful inn with a lovely main lodge (dining room, common areas, and individual rooms) and individual cottages. Two couples stayed in two of the charming cottages. Screened in porches and comfy furniture inside. Serene setting, views of Mount La Conte and a peaceful nature trail. The food is delicious! Breakfast is included (several choices, all excellent) and 7:00 one-seating dinner is available with reservations. (noticed you may bring your own wine) Arrive early for breakfast to enjoy coffee on the porch overlooking the mountains or arrive early for dinner to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner begins at seven. We all loved this inn! The hosts and all the staff are professional and friendly. The aim is definitely to provide an upscale, but relaxed experience. Great attention to detail in all respects. We will definitely return. July 2013 TNlikes2travel, Smithville TN

Wouldn’t Stay Anywhere Else in Gatlinburg
Peaceful and Beautiful
The cottages were great. The screened in porches, fireplace, king size bed, and Jacuzzi made the stay incredible. Breakfast served each morning was phenomenal! The food and service was excellent. Great varieties to choose from and very filling. Could not have asked for a better vacation. Plan to stay longer than three days or you will regret it. June 2013 GrantsWife, Duncan, SC
Enjoy the Good Life
My wife and I have stayed here several times now [three weekends over three years]. The rooms we stayed in were great, the food has been spectacular. Breakfast is to write home about. Dinner is beyond description. Every meal has been beyond yummy. The view from the rooms and dining room is wonderful. When seated there you get the feeling of old-world dining. A great jumping off point in The Smokies. Yet, you are on the “Craft Loop” of Gatlinburg. Go to The Buckhorn Inn and enjoy the good life! July 2013 rbknott Lenoir City, TN
